About
CommeHome Social Services is a not-for-profit organization with offices in Casselman & Ottawa Ontario. Our mission is to empower and contribute to improving the mental/social wellbeing of residents in Ottawa and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell with focus on those who identify as black.
We offer a wide range of programs and services as highlighted below.
Mental Health
SENIORS' circle
Social isolation is prevalent among seniors in our community. Our programming for seniors (June to October, every year) is designed to provide opportunities for social engagement, physical activity, lifelong learning, and support services. Some of our activities for seniors include…….
Youth Programs
Youths represent the future, and they remain at the centre of our activities. At CommeHome Social Services, we recognize the challenges faced by black and other invisible minority youths as well as the immense potential that can be harnessed during the youthful developmental stages of life.

We recognized the importance of training, sharing knowledge and transferring skills. We continuously develop training materials that would promote a thriving community. Our current training programs and workshops focused on themes such as:

WORKPLACE HARASSMENT AND VIOLENCE PREVETION
CommeHome Social Services has been awarded a grant from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) to develop tools and resources to prevent harassment and violence in the Uranium mining and processing industry.
The tools and resources will help employers in the Uranium and mining industry comply with Bill C-65 legislation which contains measures to protect employees from harassment and violence in federally regulated workplaces.
